Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Data Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is critical in supporting our clients by analyzing complex financial data, reconciling information across multiple Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and assisting with client support needs related to implementation, reporting, and fiscal year-end activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with large datasets across multiple client accounts, often housed in diverse and varying ERP systems and formats.
- Perform detailed financial data analysis as part of quarterly client reconciliations, identifying and communicating variances to both clients and the AKG internal team.
- Support BMET tool implementation for new clients by analyzing and vetting control files, identifying anomalies, and working with clients and the implementation team to ensure accurate data import.
- Assist clients and internal teams during fiscal year-end activities, including final invoicing, accruals, and adopted budget processes.
- Monitor for compliance with Prop 39 General Obligation Bond Program regulations, as well as applicable state, federal, and local financial and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and maintain clear documentation of financial analyses, reconciliations, and communications with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and support smooth financial workflows.
- Utilize and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office programs—particularly Excel—for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Learn, adopt, and become proficient in the AKG BMET tool to support client needs effectively.
- Other tasks as requested.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, advanced functions, and data visualization).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to numerical detail.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and large datasets concurrently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to explain financial data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized with strong documentation skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with multiple ERP systems and navigating different financial data structures.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards, Prop 39 General Obligation Bond Programs, and other Federal, State and local regulatory frameworks.
- Prior experience in financial data analysis, reconciliations, or reporting for multiple clients/accounts.
- Comfort working in a consultative, client-facing capacity.
- Demonstrates initiative and drive, consistently achieving goals with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong focus on quality and results.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience
- Paid Time Off: Vacation Pay (80 hours annually), Sick Pay (40 hours annually), and 11 paid holidays per year
- Retirement Plan: Annual SEP IRA employer contribution goal of 15% to 20% of gross annual wages
